Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Our society meets every Tuesday @6pm. We make smaller groups and each group writes, film and edits a short film per semester. We also share and learn new filmmaking skills, to put into practice during the year.

I would like to join but I do not have a camera

There is absolutely no need! By joining the society you have free access to our equipment.

I would like to join but I don't know anything about filmmaking

Every level of expertise is welcome, we are all learning together!

Why does the quality of the films vary so much?

Each group independently writes, films and edit their project. Every film is a learning process and members are left with complete creative freedom.

How does membership work? How much does it cost?

The first two weeks of the semester are free, but after that you can purchase your membership for £10 on AUSA's website. You don't even need to be a student? With this membership, you get full access to all our equipment and can join us for a fully paid trip to the Glasgow Film Festival in February/March.
